I don't think the list specifically says it's for people who are actually IN the Blue Rose, but rather it could be a list of potential recruits. Perhaps Windom Earle went nuts because he failed to live up to expectations in a Blue Rose case. Sam Stanley, as we know from SHOTP suffered a breakdown. Perhaps the two names not mentioned by Albert weren't mentioned because they were never fully entered into the Blue Rose. I imagine such an elite taskforce has quite a high benchmark of entry.

But yeah, as far as I've read Lynch didn't have much to do with Earle's creation and even Frost wasn't responsible for most of his development as a character. I think I read somewhere that Lynch just plainly hated the character. So no surprise if they simply want to get rid of him and his storyline.

I agree. The book is a potential supplement but what's on film is the only canon we're certain of.

He was a complete schmuck. Lamest villain ever. His story line had such awesome potential, but he was a loony idiot who never seemed to actually pose much threat or danger. They could have cast Jim Carrey to play that role and it would have made more sense. I was quite happy when Bob just sucked out his sole and didn't let him reap any of the rewards for his quest.
Anyhow, that's my rant for the day. One of the very, very few things about TP I truly dislike.

Yeah, as soon as I heard that they were the last words of a woman who died I immediately thought of the 1950's gal. Episode 8 seemed like a genesis for the good and evil in Twin Peaks, and it would make sense that it was also the beginning of the Blue Rose story as well. I think back in the episode 8 forum someone suggested that "Judy" if that was the girl could be what got Gordon or Phillip into the Blue Rose investigations in the first place. Looks solid to me. I really hope we hear more about her. There's only about 50 deep dark mysteries I need this show to deal with before it ends in a couple episodes.

Sorry, I might have missed this topic from the forum, but did anyone mention anything about how odd it was for Lynch and Frost to rewrite history, saying that Philip enlisted Cooper, when in FWWM, Cooper had clearly never met Philip before?

It seemed odd for Lynch and Frost to rewrite history like that. Instead of having Albert say that Jeffries contacted Cooper to have him join the Blue Rose task force, they could have left him out of it, and just kept the list down to Albert and Chet.

I just wanted to comment that I think "FishinthePercolator" is one of the great minds in this forum. Everything you have written so far is so well thought out and you obviously are not just a Twin Peaks fan, but also someone very wise and thoughtful!

It could be a continuity error, but if not there are other explanations as to why he might have said this.
Jefferies may have had more of a higher level background role without having a hands on approach with the FBI staff working in blue rose cases.
Also - it's possible Cooper didn't actually get inducted into blue rose officially. He may have been working on blue rose cases, a bit like Tammy, but disappeared before he was officially given the go ahead.
