Is it just me, or is the curtain in the background expanding/opening, like someone is looking through just after he says this?

During that entire scene, the camera felt as if it were moving, but also standing still. I can't discern if that was my excitement, or if it was actually happening.

I agree. I had to rewatch it when I wasn't sleepy. There is definetly a gap appearing in the curtain - it expands both ways for a short moment. Maybe Diane took a wrong turn? Sure looks like Gordon chose an eaves-drop-friendly room, judging by the way Diane enters. :O
