Anybody got this feeling that this lady and Cooper's reaction towards her could refer to Coop's mother? Let's not forget he is human being - damaged and terribly lonely... Who wouldn't be longing to be in mother's arms in his situation? That part was so moving it almost made me cry...

So we have two mother figures in Twin Peaks. The horrible experiment- mother of all evil and Mother - loving, caring, protecting. Just beautiful Lynchian dualism.

I'm hoping it wasn't a horrible foreshadowing that something terrible would befall her son.

The big issue with the lady is how fast her story has progressed. This has been an probably a week since he saw her?  We've seen no real proof of a time jump. In that time she has:

1. Reunited with her son

2. Bought a house

3. Bought a dog.

4. Bought a swanky wardrobe

these things along with how this entire scene felt magical and dream like. Makes me worry that Vegas is Cooper rebuilding his mind as he goes from the black lodge to the real world. It felt super happy ending. Also along with Candie taking so long because of traffic made me think this journey Cooper is on is a long one. He's on the road and it's taking so long.

I feel like most of what is happening in Vegas has a connection or parallel to things happening in Twin Peaks. I don't know what/who the slot-machine woman represents yet, but might another TP character soon reunite with her estranged son? I hesitate to propose a theory based on wishful thinking but I'd really like to see the return of Audrey Horne.
