part 11 seems to suggest they aren't married, but Becky is his daughter ( anyone else responding instead of Bobby, she would've been arrested ). He quietly takes it that Shelly excitedly runs outside to see Red and says nothing to her when she comes back.

She's specifically referred to in the episode as Shelly Briggs both by conversation and in the end credits. They may be separated, but Bobby and Shelly are married.

So ep. making it clear they are separated, then. And Bobby probably still loves her.

I posted about Becky on a separate thread, but the scene you mention, especially given Shelly's habit of falling for bad dudes, makes me wonder if Becky isn't the product of Leo Johnson rather than Bobby, who had just lost his own father around the time of Becky's birth.

( back then ) It seemed Bobby had a lot more sex with her than Leo did, who had orgies when he wasn't off driving his truck for work.

I don't think Becky needs to be the product of Leo to get into trouble.  I think Bobby and Shelly both did plenty of that in seasons 1 and 2.

I want to know whose ring she's wearing around her neck if she's separated from Bobby but seeing Red.

Get her back Bobby!!

After a second time through that scene I think I want to add that Shelly's transformation when  sees Red through the window is really unnatural.  I know she's attracted to her bad boys, but that was an intensely emotional and important moment she was sharing with her daughter.  As a parent you don't just turn that off.  Very curious to see more of that storyline.

Yes - I was expecting her to wave Red away in a 'not now' manner - not turn into a giggly schoolgirl...

Pretty sure Red is a magician.  That coin flip trick shows he's got some unusual abilities.  He also points his finger at Shelly and pretends to shoot at the end of episode 1 in the Bang Bang bar.  Something I hope we don't see play out with an actual firearm.

It could also be Bobby and Shelly divorced and Shelly did not change her name.

Shelly's involvement with Red makes it seem inevitable Bobby will be dealing with Red as a police officer. Maybe this will give him an opportunity to win Shelly back.

Hi dawg,

I thought so too, at first.  But then I remembered that Richard had just done a serious snoot-full of Sparkle just before he mesmerized by all that magic.  😉

Personally, though, I'm hoping that Red does have some magic.  Red magic:

Red magic is described by the late exorcist of Rome, Gabriele Amorth, as a type of sorcery that “regards the sphere of sexuality and influences the sentiments” in his book, An Exorcist Explains the Demonic. For this reason, it’s often referred to as “sex magic” and is used to inspire passion in a love interest.

Maybe he used some of that on Shelly!  😉

(with apologies to Cole Porter and Frank Sinatra:)

"You Do Something To Me"

You do something to me
Something that simply mystifies me
Tell me, why should it be
You have the power to hypnotize me?

Let me live 'neath your spell
Do do that voodoo that you do so well
'Cause you do something to me
That nobody else could do

You do something to me
Something that simply mystifies me
Tell me, why should it be
You got the power to hypnotize me?

Let me live 'neath your spell
Do do that voodoo that you do so well
'Cause you do something to me
That nobody else can do
That no one else in the world can do

I have a hunch that Red's and Shelley "place" where they'll meet will be near where everyone is trying to discover on Blue Pine Mountain.  This will guarantee that Bobby will be there too.

Tell you what.

Shelley has a bloody poor taste in men 😀

Leo,

Bobby (young Bobby anyway, an ex murderer himself)

Red.

Terrible taste!

It's a simple food chain thing.

Bobby will take Steven down the next time he breaks the law.

(Hopefully) Red will kill the shit out of Richard.

And then, Bobby will kill Red.

Problem solved. Bobby still won't get the girl of his dreams ('cause she's obviously into scumbags), but at least he will get some amount of revenge. ;D

I am sure the timeline for their meeting is after 10/2.  But me being sure about anything in Twin Peaks is not saying much.
