Hi, Lynn - You mean people not watching TP who are looking for viewer comments that will persuade them to also watch? - Maybe it's because I avoid reading any comments, pro reviews and viewer feedback on Anything, but it honestly never occurred to me that posting on this forum would serve the purpose of promoting the show. I'm just here to have a conversation with people already watching the show.

Randy - I really don't think that neutral bystanders exist - the very thought of trying to follow the story of series 3...!
There just seems to be a recurrent theme of someone popping up & saying 'this is no good'. Now if they said 'I'm really not liking this' that is fair enough... but then we get the circular argument of someone else saying it IS good - and them being called 'fanboy' (haven't witnessed any fangirl accusations - yet)
Maybe there's a bit of a language/culture barrier going on - but I don't interpret a 'fan' as someone who blindly loves everything about something. I would have though being a fan was quite a sensible reason for watching so far...
I suppose it's the same with people dismissing other poster's theories - as far as I'm concerned everything's up for debate. We've got a woman as a doorknob & a bloke's foot talking to him - so I'm damned if I'm going to dismiss anything as a glitch, never mind tell anyone else that their theory (looks around to check that I can get away with that) is not right...
Yeah, I sure agree, Lynn - That's nutty to just pop into a forum and drop a hit-and-run negative opinion and then leave. And most of the time, those pointless posts are implied to be The Last Word - the only opinion worth considering, or a statement of irrefutable fact. Silly stuff.
I always assume an "IMHO" (in my humble/honest opinion) to be implied in anything I read on a forum, and certainly in my own posts. I usually omit any kind of IMHO caveat in my own posts because it seems redundant - all I ever write about is from my perspective. If someone doesn't get that, I rush to clarify. And I'm saying it's not only my own posts where I assume the IMHO - even when someone is clearly attempting to be The Authority on a topic - I can't grant them that, so don't grant them that authority even if they attempt it, and I think, "Ah well, he may not know it, but he means IMHO."

Admittedly, my reaction to the word "humble" in that context is from learning that people who affect humility are not to be trusted. Think Uriah Heep - the character, not the band - and you'll get it.

Oh, there's no differing on that, SamX, even though that would of course be fine if there were.
For clarity, I was just using the internet parlance for "here's my opinion" - the "H" in IMHO standing for "honest" or "humble," preference being for the former, but neither one being quite what I mean when I think of IMHO. Opinions are the only thing possible to post, even when the poster may think he/she's posting The Final Word. That's why I never use the IMHO acronym.
All I post are my personal observations and reflections, and if someone doesn't already understand that all anyone can do is post an opinion, that's really their shortcoming - though I will patiently explain, when needed, that what they're seeing from me and possibly taking exception to, is "only" my opinion.
