Is it an accessoire?  The Connection to Red make me think of a hanging traffic light.

I wondered that too.  I didn't give it much more thought than "he's going for the Michael Jackson look."  But now that you mention it, it might be worth some consideration.  Nothing here seems to be on accident.

There is a connection/antagonism between red and green, although this requires detours through various 'formal clues'(clues inherent in the way a person forms what they are saying, or a picture is formed visually, that is not simply an observation of the content, in other words, 'what is missing').

This roadhouse scene at the end of episode 2 is about dealing with 'desire'(red) and 'world-home-law-nature(trees)-objective background'(green) after being violently thrown into a 'world of blue'(death, negation, sadness, end of dreams, the feeling that something is deeply wrong, void at the center of everything as opposed to a solid precious atom of say gold, silver, or jade, etc.).   This scene appears after Laura is violently taken away from Cooper in the red room, after Laura-Mother seduces him again to keep him in the room, thereby hiding her own guilt of taking the 'closed ring of enjoyment' being fully on the side of 'the truck drivers' which she sees as the only solid reality. Laura seeks, as Mother, to keep Cooper trapped in her vicious sadistic/masochistic downfall, so that he continues to invest his desire(red) in the 'American sweetheart' he must save to uphold the law and twin peaks as the ideal community(green).  This investment by Cooper fails, becomes 'blue', since Laura-Mother is sadistic pervert, truly desiring only to gain surplus enjoyment(gold) by perverting the law-ethical world(revenge against the father) which she can see is deeply flawed and corrupted by 'truck drivers'.  Laura's guilty mistake was to take this 'world of extra-legal force' as a seductive solid reality(seductive because it allows her to hide and maintain her narcissistic self-enjoyment); in other words, when Laura hits the 'blue' she refuses to accept the void as in the core of reality, hides from it and directly goes to desiring this 'extra-legal' world of force and barbarism, which is 'all there is'(in the same way that the 'trouble' song sees blue vanish and red stay during the purple transition, producing electricity which allows Richard Horne to continue smoking and torture the girl) Laura took the 'closed-circle ring of enjoyment', becoming wedded to people like Mr. C, Richard Horne, Chad, truck drivers, etc., and now needs people like Cooper or the bookhouse boys-James to still believe in the long dead law/American-dream so that she can punish them for what her father did to her.  Laura-Mother and her husbands(Richard Horne, billionaire-military-tyrants, etc.) seek to solidify their tyrannical rule repetitively with brute extra-legal force, make the world their property for their own selfish ends(gold, silver, jade).  Gold(as atom, not as placing void and blue which sees how Gold is 'fleeting' becomes disgusting, destroys a person and the ethical world) is thus the color of people tricked by Laura, who seek, like sleazy Dougie, violate the green for cheap thrills of enjoyment that is in surplus of the law, who seek profits at the expense of all else, and take the government as property to tyrannically enforce their rule to the detriment of the father-law and universal interests.

But why does Laura now vanish for Cooper?  The clue is found in the crowd during the blue song where the green glove appears.  While the song is talking about fading shadows letting go of past desires(strangers dream, picture from the frame, last time, its over-dead, etc.), it says 'your in the water, im on the shore', meaning that once you see the failure of 'gold', etc. you see that something is deeply wrong and corrupted with the 'green'-home, that by default you will end up in a world dominated by Mother-Laura and Father-Leland violating all Oedipal-Legal bounds in pursuit of 'fleeting gold'(capitalist profit directly enforced, etc.) which turns the world into Rancho Rosa, which wants to cry out, but can only say 119(a world full of truck drivers).  The crowd is colored green and gold, in the water, pushed around as passive by the flow of life and natural force (false-atomist green) and destroyed because of their atomistic rejection of the world of blue.  While the 'blue' musicians see that something is deeply wrong with them and let them go, prefer to stand on the shore abstracted from the 'world of truck drivers'.  Laura vanishes and is unable to keep Cooper in her seductive grasps because by now, everyone acts like Laura, everyone in the crowd is singing Laura and Leland's extra-Oedipal song, gold-as-atom is now in the green, it is the law, it is no longer a shock; the law is to violate ethical norms and thus Laura can no longer sustain her gold enjoyment by violating Cooper(since Cooper is now only a crippled ET in today's world(the alien-log is excluded and to go to home here is a disaster), seen as an antiquated idiot; but he is also on the verge of being killed by brutal criminals, hitting jackpots, hes got the stuff...)

So the roadhouse scene at the end of episode 2 is all about how to deal with antagonism in a 'world of blue' a void with no atoms, seen once Laura-Mother and Leland-Father lose their grasp momentarily.  James and the bookhouse boys are stupid because they are atomistic, they are reading 'terrorists-Russia cause all our problems', they think the problems are coming from some external source that has nothing to do with them(drugs must be coming from Canada, but are coming in via Chad who is one room down), that they can continue chasing the gold and torturing the entire society, buy people of with cheap extra-Oedipal crap that is no longer subversive, and make this a norm to tie people to them like a drug dealer and junkie(green and gold).

James seems to still be missing all of this, like Jacobi and the bookhouse boys, he believes in an atomistic twin peaks of old, where everything would have been fine, if not for Canadians, evil in the woods, etc.(the evil is actually coming from denying the antagonism in the green, the red room is inside of everyone and everything).  Thus James is not discerning things correctly, taking it as guaranteed(he would never admit that Laura was a corrupted psychopath, even though thats where she was driving) and ends up looking at one of the sleazy girls at the table with Shelly(you can notice after the guy who points at shelly, the girl james is looking at says something to shelly, who touches her nose like 'sniff-cocaine' and rejects it, saying no, while the two girls by the edge of the table then start saying, yes, yes.... looks like James is headed back into the water, another motorcycle accident, the congressmans dilemma..).  Now stupid, naive, bookhouse boy james(like the kid who got killed by the billioinaire surveilance tryant married to laura) is either going to finally learn the lesson bobby gave at Lauras funeral, or hit the same 'blue' problem, where he will have to 'tear the thread' of the 'closed circle'(the thread must be torn Mr. Palmer, bookhouse boys are evil, not good).  He comes in thinking 'what a great place'(as if it didnt raise leland and laura, mother-father tyranny), and his friend with the green glove says 'its the dogs bollocks'.... well the only reason its great is because of the blue song, the crowd itself and the girl james is looking at are bollocks, gold-atomist bollocks only engaging in narcissistic shallow behaviour.  Now the guy with the green glove may be James' shadow(desire and its failing in blue), he is coming back home-green, with the glove on the right hand, not the closed ring on the left hand.  A sign of knowing the value of having a home-substance-crowd-ethical world worthy of any decent person, and asserting such a thing, but their naivity shows they have just blocked out the 'world of blue', so will not be able to tackle the problem and probably will contribute to it, they are probably bollocks, just like the crowd. This glove is a sign of the return of home-substance-twin peaks-law etc. in a way slightly different from the crow, but it doesnt look promising given the clues(going from the shore, just recovered from the motorcycle accident(Laura) and going for another coaine-gold-girl right away, going right back into the water)....

More promising is the character named Red, who appears as a sort of distant shadow of James(Shelly still remembers why James was cool(old fashioned, genuine, etc.) and is also interested in this guy).  The actor who plays him has also been down the 'lost highway', like cooper, but seems to have stabilized himself out of ET mode.  When they first show this guy, he is having a bust up with and confronting Jacques(probably Jacques tried to offer drugs or prostitutes), he then gives the gun sign(sign of law-substance-ethical world, cooper is obsessed with) at Shelly.  Now James is smiling, trying to convince himself everything is OK, like old twin peaks, get a weird 'blue' feeling, then forces himself to smile again, everything is OK, etc.; while Red sees that James' girl is mentioning cocaine and his eyes turn serious and unflinching.  Its about red(desire) in a 'world of blue', to assert green properly, to wear it on the right hand, we must remain on the shore and learn our lessons properly (not blaming canadians, terrorists, etc.), the problem is right here, must be recognized and dealt with in twin peaks.  Thus this character Red is looking for the right one, Shelly(who knows the value of green, James as natural boy representing the old dead world and its ghosts haunting the corrupted present, even the naive can have dignity in old twin peaks), but he doesnt jump in the water and recognizes the green/gold friends surrounding and corrupting shelly(everyone loves that guy, dont intervene in your daughter, its her life, pro-cocaine, etc., not put any law, just let it flow like water).....Thus desiring in a world of blue is non atomist, something is always wrong and must be dealt with, the gold must be put in its place, laura and leland(Tyrannical-patriot act government) must be stopped once and for all.

Green glove on the right hand translates into consciously asserting twin peaks as a community which produces something that can live up to the dreams that James, his friend, and the original cooper from the first series all have/had; a state-nature-background where people can create, find their desire(red with the freedom to limit shit while remaining capable of following personal desire/creation, etc..). To properly deal with the shit means leaving desire on the 'left arm', capable of remaining an unconscious antagonism and  response to a permanently corrupted-dead(blue) twin peaks and the shit it gives us as we search for desire.    Now, in Philadelphia and twin peaks, serious problems seemingly appear out of nowhere from the green as dominated by gold surplus(capitalism enforced by authoritarian terror state)(brown/shit, the color of the coat of the girl in new york, when the kid tried to realize his desire, he got in the shit and was brutally murdered by Laura-mother, inexplicably, the impersonal unconscious system of all people organized under the same spirit).

Now, these problems must be dealt with to save the green(law-limit), which was represented by Red the charterer who was in the space of James' unconscious shadow(left arm). Desire must see the infinite problems shit as they are, deeply embedded in the green, the community is not innocent. Green-community is tied up with limiting/law(getting rid of Laura, trying again to kill mother, which has failed) which must be asserted when properly infinite desire(red leading to the red room of the infinite) runs into trouble(Laura). Creation comes out of the red room, which must remain 'not talked about directly'(the left arm), or you end up in Rancho Rosa, with the red on the right hand and gold dominating the green, leading to shit-gold-Laura's bright electricity-shit ad infinitum.

The charachter Red seems capable of recognizing these problems for green-as-law, since he embodies where the left hand of desire should be for someone who wears the green glove on the right hand, seeing the shit at its proper level, what the green/twin-peaks gives us as it is.  James never had this, but desires directly, like Jacobi, as if the green/twin-peaks is guaranteed and golden, no matter what(he never learned bobbys lesson), thereby reproducing all the problems that led to James' motorcycle accident. Will James be able to get it together this time, instead of riding Laura's coat-tails into another Donna, who was also under Laura's spell?

After episode 6, that theory about Red is gone(red where he should be blue, desire in the failure of green-law, rather than drive to blue-trouble for the objective world-law-green), looks like trouble for Shelly and James, and Twin Peaks in general.  The tyrant-father is with the laura-mother-Shelly?  Thus Richard Horne gets angry(impotence/omnipotence).

So this antagonism about what to do with the law-green in a world of blue shifts, for now, back onto the shoulders of ET cooper, who is now discovering the boxer's poster, time to get tough....dont die....

ET-Home-touches Janey E's mouth(fixes home for the kid and mother), who is now looking more promising....

Thinking about it more, I was actually right about Red, in the opposite way than I was speculating on(he is a male laura, rather than James with left hand-infinite power): he was definitely in the best position over James and can recognize the holes in the law, the power of black/nothing and magic, just that he desires/wants(Red) this, like Mr. C, rather than feeling 'blue'(knowing that the black is just that nothing, and split in itself) and fixing the green-law from this realization.  I was right about Red, just he was on the atom/profit/direct-surplus side, rather than the side we see now emerging with Cooper and Janey E(cooper boxing with left hand, Janey and the 99%, notice cooper must learn to box, like Red did with Richard Horne, the power of black/white, silver properly utilized, as a void split by the white of becoming, actuality), also with Carl from the trailer park, who are learning to limit the surplus, giving proper place.  It was a trick, you see old james/shelly, etc. and you want see something in them, but you have to recognize that laura still reigns in terror, the problems of twin peaks were never solved, james is still naive, and drug dealers like leo still rule, married to laura(and probably shelly here).  What happened here was just a top to bottom/left to right switch, he(and it looks like Shelly too, with her patronizing to dark, non-split green/home(no problems in green, it is just always going to be fat women laughing, who she is better than, can violate and patronize, since she has Red/leland power man's affections, has her golden ring around the neck), headed for another leo, lauras law?)  Its about red and green, desiring a world worth of our desire, that can create conditions suitable for proper human beings capable of excess and the infinite, which of course means limit is involved here, blue, etc.  Red, the character, definitely is involved in red and green, destroying green, desiring to somehow atomize black into his property so the gold/silver can flow for him, but of course, that dwarf/shit, is always on the way......in some form or another...boxing ET cooper, it looks like, although I was looking for younger character/coopers, these generations became a 'world full of truck drivers', so far.....

Definitely got theories on the purple room, think Ive got most of it too.  Cooper gets to the purple room after losing Laura as an object of desire(the sweetheart(gold) in the good town(dark green), not corrupted like philadelphia(shit-brown).  Laura has kept cooper trapped, desiring her for 25 years which she can then violate his law for extra-oedipal surplus/tyranny.  Cooper sees the pale horse/apocalypse when he loses laura and hopes of a green/community worthy of a thinking/infinite/desiring person, now he must fix a world where laura's law reigns supreme.  Purple is about red(desire) failing/dying, becoming blue(dead, sad, etc.).  Now cooper must enter a room where everyone still desires laura, like he did, but now laura's extra surplus is law.  Laura is the mother/authority that chops people up and threatens them in the purple room, the kids in New York, for example. the clue is the bright light shining through the holes in the door mother is banging on, the same light that laura shows behind her face( she is dead but alive, living in spirit that rules the world, there is nothing beyond her dead face(destroyed by leland and herself as prom queen, hope of the town, etc.) but the surplus rage/enjoyment/shit).  She snaps her fingers to control cooper, who as dougie is looking for the gold, then kisses him and seduces him, but this time she is torn away, her law is now everywhere and facing problems of its own, re-enter cooper as crippled forced to find the cause of green-law-world again in a new way. the purple room basically an artistic representation of desire(red) becoming blue/dead and how people deal with it for authority created in the world, which systematically allows some desires and destroys the world for surplus.  the world itself and peoples infinite articulation create it, thus when cooper finally breaks laura's spell, he must go through this world, nowhere to hide as shelly and james show us, no one has fixed the problem, solved the case, or even followed the clues.  the chinese woman is first red, then tainted, the functional right and left hand which does not go into too much surplus to destroy the left hand(normally she does not want to see the sad woman, impossibility of the left arm, now she has to  sew her eyes shut not to see it, because of mother-laura's proximity), the sad woman does not have a left arm to control her puppet(how to deal with unexpected obstacles, creations, etc.), since mother's terror has reduced her to a sad mess, hence in lauras world(the world full of her beloved truck drivers, capitalist power people, etc.) someone like cooper must start from dougie, a corrupted fool who has finally awoken from laura's spell...

the 'chinese woman' must die, can only throw encounter the void of an unsolvable antagonism and recoil from it, try to do something, blue rose, dead love, unsolvable traumatic case.. enter sad woman. since no one in the world believes in characters like the old cooper or harry truman like before(its is now all breaking bad/truck drivers, etc.) enter ET cooper with all his dreams dashed, like the chinese woman, the old cooper is long dead and tortured(and on teh verge of being killed by) laura married to leland.  we have now switched modes in the series, all hopes of the old twin peaks coming back are killed(the traumatic, blue rose impace of history, which cooper must face in the purple room to present himself in time, enter the finite from the infinite), i think, with episode 6, but new red/green fights are emerging....

In a wold governed by laura's law(violating the ethical world to gain gold, surplus enjoyment) the old cooper cannot exist, he is long dead, since it is now law to just enjoy unrestricted, there is no longer an old agent cooper/twin peaks which laura can violate, her perverse violation is the norm (thus richard horne hits the kid, everyone is obsessed with unrestricted gold, the green is damaged, kids cant walk in the park, cops are corrupt, overdoses and crime are normal, desire takes you to rancho rosa, rr, red room, etc.).  The new series is about challenging the problems internal to laura's law, how can a new law-green-political-cause arise in such a world?

alot of people see twin peaks as being purposely devoid of meaning or senseless, but I see it as loaded with meaning and clues in every scene(mostly visual) if you want clues, just look at cooper's method, no tibetan intuition, he is looking at stuff around what is happening, not directly at who is talking or what has happened, look at peoples behaviour and their 'calling cards', like possessions, etc., look at the form of each picture, what slips away when they talk, what kind of person would say something so simple the WAY they are saying; also the cop next to chad in the scene before the roadhouse in episode 6, stop getting cynical and look for clues like cooper, there is a world out there being destroyed by the narcissistic identity-cynicism, call me out, call you out, etc..  for example, the first showing of the the outside red fence of the fat trout trailer park is a color coded formula for how to limit surplus, politically create green, and back it with properly infinite power(void, impossibility, rather than atom), but I wont go into this here.

although loading up the world like this is great for a detective show, it borders on the psychotic, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that there is void(meaninglessness of the excessive surplus property/atom), and that this cuts into the black circle, creating the electricity to look at the world-green and its problems, get left arm surplus from this, and limit the surplus, properly fall away into the blue and into something new, proper desire....the real trouble/electricity

I love how that Murat guy who writes rambling nonsense that are almost always wrong got this completely and utterly wrong.

Basically, we know now. It's pretty simple.

Murat's musings are an indication of the depth of his passion for TP, and I think it is inappropriate to declare it "nonsense". There is MUCH theorizing in this forum, and just about ALL of it turns out to be wrong.

Thank you, Murat, for sharing your deep dive with us. We are ALL dreaming, and living within the dream!

With all due respect, I disagree.
There is a difference between intelligent passionate theorising and the ramblings of a lunatic.
I like to read the former, I switch off from the latter.

This.

I confess to not always having time to process some of your posts, Murat, but when I do I just enjoy that they are so kaleidoscopic, psychedelic - in their way, entirely appropriate for this show. And sometimes, far from nonsense, you shed a unique illumination on the subject.

Keep calm and carry on posting!
