I just realized that my TPTR is still wrapped in plastic.  This seems like a crime.

Is it time rip off the scab (plastic) and do my first re-watch?

YES!!  Be sure to turn your audio system up, not sure what you have but it should be up loud.  Try to avoid thinking about things you have read here or you will be watching with expectations and searching.  Never mind, you will anyway because you experienced it once already.

Lock yourself in a room!

I had the audio pretty freakin high during the original viewing.  My neighbors might complain if I make it any higher. But I'll try.

My concern has always been that my mild hearing loss may be part of what has kept me from experiencing some of the things others mention. There are just certain places in the hearing spectrum that I am missing.

Ok, I'm doing it.  But I'm gonna go about it a little wonky.  Watching 17 & 18 first then will go back to the beginning.  I can't really explain why except that I never did watch those again and I think it's important.

Already coming up with lots of questions that may or may not have been discussed months ago, but I will bring back. If you are unable to indulge me, please be patient.  🙂

Wow, a person outside of my business that understands that hearing loss happens in different frequencies at different times...unusual at best.

Brandy,

If you have the capability, you can EQ according to your hearing loss.

If you have a spectrum plot from an EENT then you can easily boost the frequencies you are missing until they are not so missing.

Unfortunately for a 5.1 sound system, full spectrum wont be easy or cheap.  If you are running everything with HDMI cables to carry your audio (like most home audio systems) you will need an extractor to pull the audio out, then send to an EQ and then put it back to your amp channels.  Everything I just mentioned will create latency.  Now you have to delay the video to match...HA, you don't want to know the price of that.  Best case scenario you can get a 5.1 or 7.2 amp with on board equalization, but if you do it still wont be more than 5 or 7 bands...not exactly surgical.

Hearing loss is never the same in both ears...put your best ear forward!

Jack

Well, the reason I know about the hearing loss is because I've had doctor's explain it to me multiple times.  And no, the loss is not the same in both ears.

As for the rest of what you said....damn dude I'm gonna need to do some serious research. A) to figure out what you just said, B) to see if I can adjust once I decipher the code.

Thanks for the info.  🙂
