saw it earlier today. only tracks presently available are the Angelo Badalamenti main theme and the chromatics song from one of the episodes so far. the release date posted is september, no indication of whether they will add tracks as the season goes on or release them all at once at the end of the season.
I think they plan to add previews to Amazon every week, as the songs air on TV. Haven't found the OST listing yet.
really hoping that trent reznor and atticus ross have something to do with the soundtrack.
Does anyone know the name of the "song" that is playing when Evil Coop is driving the long dark road to the cabin in the woods? It was in part one. Very percussive and creepy sounding with bizarre singing. I thought it was NIN/Trent Reznor, but I can't find it. I am listening to the 2017 Cast Mixtape now to see if it magically reveals itself to me.
Thank you!
Chad
SO ...literally 5 minutes after I post my question, this page displays for me: http://welcometotwinpeaks.com/music/muddy-magnolias-american-woman-david-lynch-remix/
Weird!

Yes yes YES! Even though he's not in the credits I think reznor is undercover responsible for all of the backing soundtrack so far - credits list David lynch as sound design.
a lot of the backing soundtrack on episodes 5 and 6 is from the Johnny Jewel album "windswept," which was plugged previously on Welcome to Twin peaks for its twin peaks references.
and it looks like new songs are coming out weekly on the itunes preorder.
Also wonderful is the inclusion of old music where appropriate, as with two of the greatest instrumentals of all time in the latest episode, Green Onions by Booker T and the MGs and Sleepwalk by Santo and Johnny.
If you want to see a wonderful "Lynchian" performance on YouTube... check out this old performance of Sleepwalk where video compression has collaborated with crappy kineoscope to make Santo and Johnny look like relatives of The Arm:

I think there are going to be 2 soundtrack albums. One for the instrumental music in the series and another for the songs played by the bands at the Roadhouse. I'm not sure which album the songs played in the actual series itself will be on though. I think they will need to be double CDs though because there as been a lot of music so far and we aren't even half way through the series.
Straight away I can thank the new show for introducing me to Sharon Van Etten, had her albums on a loop since the day after her performance aired.
Hey there,
Isn't the OST supposed to be released on September 22..? Because I just stumbled upon it by pure chance online (really wasn't looking for it lol) and listened a bit to it, sounds like the real thing, with the proper instrumental tracks.
Just sayin', in case some of you are desperate to listen to the thing early, it's apparently possible. (Not legally, of course. But you can listen to it now and buy the CD/streaming rights later when it's out of course.)
