I haven't read TSHOTP, but more and more I get the feeling that this "dossier" will be found at the end of this season. It was found at a crime scene, right? What if Mr C stole this dossier from Major Briggs, and at some showdown in the end of this season, the FBI finds it among Mr C's things? I guess it's a theory that has been discussed Before. But any thoughts on this matter? Some of you have pointed out that Tammy didn't know about Jeffries when we saw her with Albert and Gordon outside the prison. That's probably because the dossier hadn't been at that point. So I'm guessing that the crime scene where it will be found is a crime scene we will se by the end of this season.

While watching TP Part 9 for a moment I though that Bobby's mom would give some part of (or a document somehow related to-) the dossier to the other Sheriff Truman, Hawk and Bobby.

Based on the dates of the original series, The Return should be taking place in 2014. Part 9 informed us it's late September.

Cole's memo at the beginning of The Secret History says the dossier was discovered at a crime scene in July, 2016 and TP's memos are dated August, 2016. Her notes don't give the impression she has any knowledge of the events that she has already witnessed in Parts 1-9.

If the series is actually taking place in 2016, does that mean Preston and Cole have a secret knowledge that they're attempting to hide from the others? Did the creation of Dougie delay Coop's return by two years?

In any event, I think it's unlikely we'll see the dossier in the series because it's either already been recovered or two years away from discovery.

Asked about the book being connected to the show, David Lynch said "that's Mark Frost's vision of Twin Peaks." They co-wrote the script, so there are ideas they agreed on, but don't expect the show to reflect the book closely.

I think the events in the actual programme are taking place in September/October 2015.  How that relates to the dossier in The Secret History discovered at a murder scene in 2016 I have no idea.

Someone pointed out somewhere else that Bill Hastings states his age as "43" when interrogated. Om his driver's license it says his birthyear is 1973 (month of August I think). Which would make the year 2016 in the show. (1973+43). The dossier would then have been found and analyzed before the event of the show since it's September in the show.

Having read the book this makes a whole more sense. There is of course the incoherence problem, as I pointed out before, between the scene outside the prison and the side note written by Tammy about Jeffries in the dossier. I guess Frost is to blame on that one.

Remind me what page that side note is located?

I'm going with Tammy and Cole conspiring to keep a lid on their investigation because they suspect Albert and now Diane.

I've read the portuguese translation but I believe it will be the same in the original. Pages 312 and 313.

Right before the Twin Peaks Post's facsimile. The one about Margaret Lanterman, the Log Lady.

Assuming that 25 is a precise amount of time and that season 1 and 2 were set in 1989, the Return should be set in 2014. The fact that the events seem to happen in 2016 is something I really can't understand, let alone all the apparent discrepancies inside the season itself. At the moment this is the weakest aspects of the Return.

I went back and read it and Laura's diary again in May.

The thing with season three is I don't think we've seen a beginning, middle, end story. I can't figure it out exactly - but I don't think the goings on in Twin Peaks are happening at the same time as say, the events in in the Midwest. And we might have started in NYC, but those events might be happening right before Cooper headed back to Twin Peaks.

Have we seen any time/date stamp in Twin Peaks yet?

You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to watch episodes 1 -16 but I'm ONLY going to watch the scenes that take place in Twin Peaks. Fast forward them scene to scene. I think it's just been a few days in Twin Peaks we've seen.
