This is a forum about Twin Peaks and its world. Please stay on topic and post in the appropriate subforums.

The conversation will move into new subforums as new parts air, so please don't go back and talk spoilers in posts about previous installments, but create new topics instead.

Oh, and "R-E-S-P-E-C-T!"

Please leave politics, foul language, and unlawful shenanigans out of it.

Fair enough.  Your house, your rules.  But...

Language?  Really?  Given the show we're discussing has quite a bit of raw dialogue don't you think it's a silly rule?

Anyhow, your house, your rules.

I see your point, and there's no harm in quoting characters or discussing raw scenes, but let's keep the conversation itself clean, please.

Not sure this is the right place (and, if it isn't, please feel free to steal all of my Garmonbozia - and to delete my post, as well :p ) but I have a couple of suggestions:

#1 - it may be cool to have a "let's known each other/off topic/chill out" kind of section - something along the lines of a "Double R Diner"-forum, where people can introduce themselves, talk about other, non-TP-related, stuff. Generally speaking, I'm not the greatest fan of this kind of sections, in online discussion board, but I noticed that they generally help a great deal in building a "sense of community";

#2 - I think it would be nice to clarify what exactly "spoilers" means, what is included and what isn't. As I wrote in another thread, this is mostly coming from the fact that I'm used to read/watch/learn as much as I can before I watch something, and also from the fact that - especially with serialized materials and even more when it's so complex and multi-layered like Lynch's work is - it get pretty difficult to talk about something without taking into account elements and details that could be considered "spoilerific". On the other hand, of course, it's possible that I'm just some sort of really weird alien and everybody else is on the exact same page about what a "spoiler" is but, you know, just in case there are other weird aliens out there 😉

Just my two cents, anyway - I throughly enjoy this site and the forum, so thank you and keep up the great work!

Sure thing.  I don't agree with it but I'll abide by it. 🙂

Here's my two cents on the rules laid out for this forum. 🙂

In my role as a coach of people, mostly teams of software developers and those on the periphery, including managers etc, all of whom I think of as a community in service to the greater good, in this case to share our love of Twin Peaks.

It's common to call these rules a social contract, i.e. how we all play together, and how we hold each other to account. In the world I work in, there are all kinds of interesting challenges and of course money is involved.

Although far from perfect, I'm mindful of the language I use in conversation, and while that includes coarse language, it's more of being respectful of other's opinion, and we can disagree with that, we can't disagree with their experience. Often this includes context. Something taken out of context, especially when all we have here is text and emojis, can so easily be misunderstood and cause offense.

Lastly I also strive to make sure the impression of me I leave with people, having shared my thoughts, opinions etc is one that I'm comfortable with.

There, FWIW. 🙂

I've loved Twin Peaks from the moment I saw the pilot back in 1990.

Thanks to all for sharing.

The language rules seem to be observed largely in the breach (I have been guilty).

I have also violated, in a small way, the guideline on politics. My apology, noble admin. Won't happen again.
