Welcome to Twin Peaks sign, new Twin Peaks

The forest awakens in the morning fog. A bird’s eye view of the falls. Actor Michael Horse (Deputy Hawk) sits in front of what once was the Packard Sawmill and describes how a location can sometimes become a character. The Welcome to Twin Peaks sign revealed (yes, the population is still 51,201).

And then… a blurry face screaming.

Location sometimes becomes a character. There’s a lot of holy places up here, a lot of sacred places. Can’t put my finger on how I would describe it… it just touches something in the psyche. It’s almost like being in a moving painting.

Thank you for this gift, Mark Frost and David Lynch!

Twin Peaks | Now in Production | Coming to SHOWTIME in 2017

The critically-acclaimed, ground breaking television phenomenon TWIN PEAKS returns as a limited series to SHOWTIME in 2017. Currently in production, TWIN PEAKS is written and produced by series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost and is directed entirely by David Lynch. While the full mystery awaits, fans can expect many familiar faces, including Golden Globe® winner and Emmy® Award nominee Kyle MacLachlan, who reprises his role as FBI Agent Dale Cooper.

Widely considered one of the most groundbreaking and influential broadcast series of all time, TWIN PEAKS followed the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town who were stunned after their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered. The town’s sheriff welcomed the help of FBI agent Dale Cooper, who came to town to investigate the case. As Cooper conducted his search for Laura’s killer, the town’s secrets were gradually exposed. The mystery that ensued set off an eerie chain of events that plunged the inhabitants of Twin Peaks into a darker examination of their very existence. Twenty-five years later, the story continues…

    Looks like Lynch to me.

  2. Dori says:

    could be Dana Ashrbook.

  3. Francine says:

    Cooper or Leland.

  4. Shannon Nutt says:

It’s Leyland…the voice screaming is definitely Ray Wise, that’s for sure.

  5. nougatei says:

    its David Lynch

  6. Robert says:

I have been waiting so long for this. It also seems that the new season not only will be a continuation but also will explore new ideas new worlds new dreams. Judging by the trailer I guess it’s going to be fresh ideas as well as brilliant and definitive vision of David Lynch

  7. Andrea says:

I hope it’s Chris Isaac. His character disappeared in the movie and was never explained.

  8. Nat says:

    Windom Earle? Or DL.

  9. Stephanie says:

    Haunted Coop…

  10. m1KKa3L says:

David Bowie… I mean, agent Jeffries?

  11. chris says:

    Looks like Lynch to me.

  12. Jue says:

It’s David Lynch in a suit. No question there.

  13. Flowtac says:

No, that facial structure definitely belongs to Kyle MacLachlan. Lynch’s face is more squashed looking and stretched vertically.
Not to mention that the hairstyle is very Cooper, with it being
    all slicked back so nicely.

  14. the log says:

    Agent Jeffries

  15. denimdandy says:

wait…wut? now Twenty SEVENTEEN ? I thought it was 2016 🙁 Damn, that’s a long time to try and remain hyped 🙁 That’s Cooper definitely, you can tell by the jawline. The more i think about it, the more a demented and evil Cooper feels awesome. I really hope the show is allowed to be more Fire Walk With Me, than Twin Peaks.

  16. Bob says:

Totally David Lynch. It looks exactly like him. Just a blurry photo of him.

Real time I assumed it was Ray Wise though. But as soon as I paused it I recognized David.

  17. Sati says:

Did anyone else notice the giant ORB and craft at its center in the first two seconds of the clip? Moving off to the left? Either its unintentional or David is saying something about the nature of some of the new characters!

  18. Jim says:

It is David Lynch, but for a second it looked like Leland Palmer….

  19. Mackey says:

Looks like David Lynch, as Gordon Cole ?

  20. Mackey says:

I think the new Twin Peaks WILL be more in line with Fire Walk With Me, than the “regular” TV show.

Cable TV has been pretty permissive with it’s content (American Horror Story, etc.). The fact that TP will be on Showtime means Lynch and company can stretch the boundaries of what was done in the ’90’s.

    • Rob B. says:

I hope they don’t stretch the boundaries too much. Part of the glory of Twin Peaks is that the town was (at least in the daylight) a good place. Sexing it up too much (a la Game of Thrones) would rob it of its innocence and the Black Lodge would win. And that cannot be allowed to happen.

  21. Evie says:

    Cooper.

  22. Dee says:

75% Its Cooper, If you pull back from the image and squint you’ll notice a big chin…

However it could be Lynch as Cooper! (: Twin Freaks 🙂 Gotta love’Em.

    Warm regards
    MFAP

  23. shakas says:

To me it looks like cheap digital video shot that David Lynch shoe-horned in of himself, although it could be him as Gordon Cole, I doubt it’s footage from the actual show.

here’s a side by side image i made of Cole/lynch/”teaser” pic:

  24. DrExcelsior says:

    Gordon Cole.

  25. Griff says:

It’s definitely Lynch – come on, people. It really is.

  26. Nix says:

    I think it’s
    Ronald Reagan
I’m at least 60 percent positive

  27. WAYNE ELMORE says:

I THINK IS MR LYNCH HIMSELF OR COULD BE DANA OR RAY BUT I WILL SAY ITS LYNCH

  28. Rob B. says:

For some reason, the blurry image reminds me of the old banker in the last episode, the one whose glasses end up in the tree when the bomb goes off…

  29. Anna says:

    Cooper!

  30. Paul says:

Funny to see this afterwards, as it actually is a snippet of what we see in ep. 11 while Gordon Cole (Lynch) almost get drawn into the Vortex.. So no Dale or Leland.
