Sky Atlantic to air Showtime's Twin Peaks in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria and Italy in 2017

Sky and CBS Corporation today announced a long-term pan-European licensing deal that includes both old and future episodes of Twin Peaks.

Beginning this year, Sky’s 21 million customers across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria and Italy will have on-demand access to the original Twin Peaks as well as Showtime’s back catalog of hit shows like Californication and Dexter. The deal also includes new and future programming, most notably David Lynch and Mark Frost’s return to Twin Peaks currently scheduled for the first half of 2017.

Last year, CBS and Bell Media struck a similar exclusive agreement for Showtime in Canada.

Stay tuned for announcements on where Twin Peaks will air in other countries.

UPDATE: Sky Atlantic is also available via NOW TV, which is cheaper and less of a hassle.

  1. Chris says:

Boo! Wish it had been on free-to-air, this means that about 3 people and a mangy dog will watch it.

    • Michael says:

Now tv is part of sky, no contract, less than £6 a month. Not a stretch when it arrives.

  2. Craig Letford says:

I will not be giving one penny to the Rupert Murdoch owned Sky, just as I would not pay him to read any of his right wing rags. As Chris above says I wish the new Twin Peaks had been slated for the BBC or Ch4, guess I’ll wait for the box sets. Can’t wait!

  3. Marcus Heslop says:

I think we pay about £30.00 a month for Sky. That’s hardly breaking the bank and Sky Atlantic show some great shows. I hate it when people go all moralistic about an individual. I don’t care what Murdoch is like.

  4. Lucy says:

Does this mean we can watch it in the UK at the same time it’s released in the US. People are talking about an early 2017 start for season 3 but is that just for the US?

  5. Corinne says:

‘The series will be coming to Sky Atlantic in 2017, in line with its US broadcast.’ That’s from wired.co.uk
