Not sure if this has been posted yet—I've been a little out-of-the-loop and not sure where the cool kids are posting things these days. But here's some semi-encouraging stuff from Mark Frost in which he adds that (he thinks) "Showtime is musing as well."

It's been nice to hear this kind of thing, including what Lynch had to say along the same lines a while back. Back when the finale aired, a lot of fans seemed to think they'd slammed the door on continuing the show—and I thought Lynch/Frost might encourage this thinking so we'd be forced to reckon with the ending we got. (If fans are quickly assured more episodes are coming, they're free to blithely consider it a "cliffhanger" that will someday be resolved.) Personally, I always thought it was an open-ended thing: that they'd be fine with ending it here but wouldn't rule out making more if the stars happen to align. But it's a pleasant surprise that they decided to be upfront about that (instead of crushing our hopes while secretly considering it 😉 ).

If you listen to Grace's interview, Lynch and Frost were lying to actors and actresses about new Twin Peaks marerial even while working on new material.
Good on both Mark and David for being a little more transparent at the moment.

Two weeks ago, at an Emmy FYC event screening the last part of The Return :
When asked by moderator (and self-confessed super fan) Andy Greenwald if he knew this was the ending and if he was writing toward this ending, Lynch replied quickly.
“This is the ending,” he said.
“You knew this was the ending?” Greenwald asked.
“This is the ending,” Lynch said. “It’s right there. You all just saw the ending.”
