Hi everyone,

I would like to share an idea picked up in the net about part 8 that i didn't see here.

I apologize in advance for my english (i'm french).

The idea is that the scene that happened in 1956 is a variation in the story, because if the insect is Bob and the girl is Sarah Palmer, it doesn't fit with the original story. To me there are other hints that can lead to that conclusion

First, there is this message from the jumping man that apparently is "back away a little bit Michael, back away keep going back, her, her". Maybe, it can be a message to Mike to change the original Bob's host from Leland to Sarah. That brings me to expose the fact that i think that the woodsman we see in part 8 may be the original Mike.

A second hint to me is when Philip Jeffries says to Mr C/Bob, "you already met Judy". He seems surprised of hearing that.

A third hint is to me the scene while sarah is watching the same scene again and again. She starts changing after this scene. I am not a fan of synced scenes, but i think this one is relevant, i let you judge :

It's just an idea that i would like to confront with other opinions, feel free to comment and disagree on this!

I noticed that the boxing match is not a true loop.  The timing of the jarring "blang blang blang!" noise is not the same each iteration.  Sometimes it replays right on the heels of the announcer saying "Now it's a boxing match again", and sometimes there's a longer interval.

It could be argued that the timing was intentionally manipulated to parallel another scene, or perhaps some code in the cadence.

The back  away Michael etc is  I think, just Lynch directing the csmera man.

I hadn't noticed the boxing match stuff. I'll have to check that out!

One thing is that it makes the scene even more eerie/uncanny. It's not just a loop but a malfunctioning loop. I found that scene to be extremely unsettling.

After the 1945 Trinity bomb test, Mother 'vomited' thousands eggs and BOB orb.

So, I don't think that the insect born in 1956 in New Mexico is BOB.

It was a kind of parasite who stayed inactive in the body until Judy needs a new 'living vehicle'. Like in Alien movies, but dormant.

We don't know how many bodies were used by Judy before the last known one : Sarah.

I would agree,   I never thought the bug that entered Sarah was BoB.    I saw it as some entity more linked to Judy,   perhaps some kind of symbiote,   or parasite.

Maybe you're right on this.

But still, I think that this scene isn't past. I think that, for some reason, the woodsmen decide to change something. Maybe because they knew that Bob was about to be defeated, and they need him in the conception of Judy. Maybe because they wanted to steal Laura, so they infected his mother who, apparently, was carrying Laura's orb.

I have the feeling that this scene is the key to understand the intentions of Judy's side, and I think that this scene is related to Laura's disappearance.

Difficult to explain, but I think that Judy's crew understood that they need to do something in the past because Bob was going to be defeated, and Laura was about to be saved.
