Hello, not being used to American coins, i need help to identify the coin Red is using in S03E06.

Pictures of the coin.

Heads and tails seem like a dime's, but the color (red!) tells it's a penny. My source.

Your thoughts? Many thanks!

The coin is definitely a dime, which is worth 10 cents here in the US.  I was curious about the year on the coin, but I can't see it even with zooming in.  The story tells us that 10 is the number of completion.

Red is a very interesting character.  I wish we knew more about him.  People have said that he could be Mrs. Tremond's grandson, Pierre.   That makes sense to me because of the magical connection.

Thank you, so dimes can be red, they're not necessarily silver?

I could find only this page about a silver/red dime. If anyone has info about the years of minting of fully red dimes, i am interested.

Also, funny thing: the young girl from part 8 finds a penny, Hawk finds the missing pages of the Laura diary thanks to a buffalo nickel, Red uses a dime and Dougie Cooper jackpots with quarters... I don't know if it has any meaning, though.

I think the lighting makes it look red, dimes are only silver colored.

That's why he's called RED

Interestingly his name is not written in all capitals in the credits. Makes me wonder if perhaps he's not a lodge entity after all, and just a normal person. And whether there are any characters whose names are written in all capitals in the credits list who we previously hadn't considered to be lodge entities.

I didn't notice the caps in the credits.  Whose names are in CAPS?

I didn't see any, but MIKE and BOB are historically written in all caps. So I'm wondering if someone looked back at the credits whether there are any in all caps.

I just checked the credits on part 17, and Frank Silva is credited as "Bob," standard English name capitalization. So don't think anything can be gleaned from credits one way or another based on capitalization, sadly.

My thought about Red in general is that he's just there to show us the parts of Twin Peaks that are still in negative cycles: the drug running (obviously), but more importantly, Shelly.

The fates of Norma and Shelly counterbalance each other. Norma finally gets to be with her one true love. Meanwhile, Shelly has a good-hearted man  (Bobby) in love with her, but she's still attracted to the adventurous bad boy--like she was whenever she first got going with Leo and then young, bad boy Bobby.

I don't know what the coin means though!!
