Is the best translation for this something like 'calling or shouting from the mouth of the teacher' ?

Dunno bout that but I reckon the whole scene was clumsy.  After weeks of little or no exposition, we get a great big lump of it right there.

Story and ending aside, that part was, IMO, piss poor writing.

Jiao means = name in Chinese.

Jiao Dei (sounded like he said Dei) means 'Name Dei'

Pretty sure is not. “叫得”=Jiao De, difficult to connect with anything that in terms of being negative entity. It's a verb means “call".

Cc had it as "Jowday" but could be because they didn't know any other way to spell it

I have a feeling Lynch was basically forced to do this (reveal info)by studio people maybe.  So that's why he revealed it like that (in poor style and poorly acted) on purpose. This is my theory on that one.

not very likely as he refused to work like that again. i see it more as a coment on what happened with the leland revelation in the original show

Chants.  Mike enunciates it very clearly.

I was more bothered by the revelation that Gordon, Cooper, and Briggs all met at some point and hashed this out at some point in the original series?

I would agree it's bad writing. There was no way to introduce this earlier without giving the game away so we get it in a lump near the end. Pretty bad. It's similar to Lynch's dropping clues, like "430" which suggest they could be guessed at but have no meaning until they are explained, 430 miles. In hindsight these looks like clues but in the process of the story unfolding they are meaningless so not real clues. Bad.
