Cooper timeline theory

Here we go. My basic idea is that Cooper was supposed to leave the Waiting Room *and* arrive in Twin Peaks at 2:53pm on Saturday 1 October 2016; however, he was tricked and he arrived on 22 September, – 9 days too early, in Las Vegas.

Here’s my reasoning:

So, we get the time and date date 2:52, Saturday 1 when Cooper re-enters the Mauve Room, just after Naido has jumped into space. A women in the Mauve room urges Cooper to leave as her ‘mother is coming.’ Cooper leaves through an electrical outlet, with a different number to the one he saw when Naido was in the room. This is the point at which he is tricked.

At this point Cooper falls through space, and enters the glass box in New York. He is pursued by the Mother of Evil – the ‘mother’ referred to by the woman in the Mauve Room.

Cooper’s arrival causes DoppleCoop to crash and vomit. The police arrest DoopleCoop, and their arrest paperwork shows that this took place on 22 September. Assuming that DoopleCoop’s crash happens at the same time to Cooper re-enters the ‘real world’, that would mean that Cooper has travelled back in time 9 days.

Soon after Cooper has arrived in Las Vegas, Mike tells him he’s been tricked and he needs to wake up. Between 22 September and 1 October, attempts are made to kill DougieCoop, but Mike sends him prompts that keep him safe.

On 1 October Truman, Hawk, Andy and Bobbie find Naido near Jack Rabbit’s palace. This is where they were supposed to find Cooper.

My guess is that DougieCoop sticks his fork into the power socket shortly before 1 October.

Cooper’s encounter with the Fireman (which we see at the beginning of Part 1), happens *after* DougieCoop has stuck his fork into the plug socket and become Cooper again. My evidence for this is that Cooper has his FBI badge on in the Waiting Room and in the Mauve Room; its only after he leaves the Mauve Room and becomes DougieCoop that he loses his badge. Notably, his badge is missing when he meets the Fireman in Episode 1, indicating that the meeting is after he has become Dougie; Cooper's ability to speak coherently, coupled with the absence of the FBI Pin, indicates that the encounter takes place and after he has left the Mauve Room and after he has ‘awoken’ from his Dougie state.

Audrey’s first scene takes place on the evening of a new moon. Notably, there was a new moon on Saturday 1 October 2016, which indicates that we first see Audrey on the evening of the day when Naido arrives in Twin Peaks.

That is all.

I am pretty sure he fell through space, and the glass box stuff before he went to the "mauve zone"/Eraserhead spaceship.

With you on most everything else. But who tricked him? Do you think Naido was involved in tricking him? Did flipping the switch change the number on the outlet? Was that part of the trick? Should he have jumped off into space after her?

I think it's important to note that Naido didn't jump, she suffered an electric shock and fell. I just rewatched the scene again this week, and her actions and reactions do not indicate a willing jump.

It is an important distinction to make, because it means Naido didn't intend to fall into space at that moment. Now, perhaps she meant for Cooper to do so, but that is unclear.

As for when and how Cooper was tricked, that's still debateable. I think it started when the Arm's doppelgänger appeared, attacked Cooper, and made the floor give way. Before Part 14, I'd assumed Naido was in on it, but that seems unlikely at this juncture. Perhaps American Girl, seemingly wanting to get him out of danger, was secretly making him go through the wrong portal?

I also don't think Cooper went back in time when he arrived in Las Vegas, as it's a linear viewpoint that I'm not sure the lodges follow.

Naido threw the switch after warning Coop away from the portal at its original setting. The original setting might have destroyed Cooper ( at least his body ). I don't see malice from American Girl.

Oops, I agree I got New York/The Mauve Room in the wrong order.

Yes, it's difficult to know exactly what the switch in the portals means, and who tricked Cooper. Maybe there will be clues in the last few episodes.
