Interesting thing I noticed while watching Gordon's "friend" put herself together to leave. A couple times right before she gets up, time seems to slow down for just a second. First, she is looking away and as she turns to look at Gordon, it goes to slow-motion. Almost like you're expecting her to be someone else. It happens again immediately after, while she is taking one last drink of wine.
I stream on the Showtime app on my Xbox, so on first watch, I wondered if maybe it was a glitch. But it happened again upon rewatch.
Anyone else notice this? Think it could be something of note?
Also, her antics remind me of the waiter bringing Cooper milk after he is shot. I doubt there is any connection but it's just interesting character behavior.
Her movements were absolutely unnatural. However was it 'Twin Peaks' unnatural, with hidden meaning? Or regular person unnatural, meaning the escort was making sure to leave an impression on this elderly gentleman so that he'd pay for services later that night?
Oh I think she was definitely trying to ensure that Cole would call her back up.
But im more interested in the slowing of time. It seems like that has happened elsewhere in this season - maybe there is a connection....or maybe my Xbox 360 just sucks.

Yeah, I rewatched the scene a couple of times and she definitely moved in slow motion once, when she turns, then there's a glitch (I'd say when or before she drinks the wine). Considering also the thing with Tammy in the hallway I wonder if it's something in the world around them or if it's just something with Gordon.
Also, not necessarily related, but I seem to remember there were some red curtains in the room where Albert and Cole tell Tammy about the red room.

Good and interesting call, but Gordon has no reason to withhold information from Albert, I think. Lil was used to communicate with Desmond via code to keep Stanley in the dark.
The French flag a few episodes ago (when Albert dined with the morgue lady) and now this French vixen in the same hotel are rather interesting.
Yup they french gal remind me of Lil at some point.. the scene was awesome and hilarious with Albert watching them and LOL Gordon's face!!
I got the feeling that she wasn't actually even French. She seemed like a caricature, like a character picked out of an Escort catalog. She reminded me of the "French" woman in the FWWM at the diner.

Well, apparently Gordon learned a little French! I have a theory, an interpretation both harebrained and unfalsifiable: Gordon's deafness is a symptom of successfully toning out people he is not sexually attracted to, a ribald and mordant commentary on how desire filters everything we apprehend. Two things are never far away in Lynchland: sex (or desire, more broadly) and death (relinquishment, surrender, etc.), and both are complexly imbricated in dreams. Perhaps Gordon's work for the Bureau left him little personal time (ala Albert), and when he was able to hear Shelly perfectly he learned the link between listening and arousal. In any event, good for him!

Escorts do travel and advertise in advance that they are coming to said area. Some also will travel to clients if they pay for travel expenses.
I'm convinced that the entire scene was in code. I believe that the French woman had a role similar to Lil. (Look at how the usually impatient and openly sarcastic Albert says nothing, but they keep cutting to his face watching her movements intently.) I believe that Gordon's obvious ogling was part of the code. After they start speaking in vagaries and with some strange gestures. Albert starts blinking in a rapid pace, but without rhythm, after which Cole (presumably picking up on his intended meaning) respond by saying "I'm really worried about you."
My thoughts as for the purpose: they are onto Diane and are taking precautions to ensure that she hasn't bugged the room.
