After Mullins bops DougieCoop on the chin outside the limo, DougiCoop holds his jaw in a very similar way to how BadCoop held Jack's jaw while killing him....DougieCoop, while holding his jaw, says "Dead".....hmmmm

I noticed that too.

There's a lot mental processing going on within Dougie/Coop however he doesn't seem to have the ability to respond at the pace of the physical/earth realm ~ is he lacking electrical charge/energy? Or perhaps bound by the Trick that was played on him by MrC?

Either way, we have seen enough responses from him to indicate that our Special Agent is working hard within to get out!

I'm hopeful the Jack face squish death will be explained because that was so strange it continues to bother me.

I was wondering if there was a connection between Mr. C holding Jack's face like that and the way the woodsman execute people... but then I was realizing they seem to go for the brain rather than the jaw.. and THEN I realized...

His boss said "knock 'em dead" when he did that. Coop repeated "dead."

I was trying to recall if Coop had gotten punched like that in the past, why he would hold his jaw and be looking like he was trying to pull up a memory.

I think it's exactly as Mark Chamberlain Stevens said he was in some way aware / channeling Evil Coop and his rubbing people's faces to death move.  I don't recall anything similar happening to SA Dale Cooper in the past.

So he's (very) slightly aware of his old full self AND of his doppelganger's self?

I noticed that too! Very distinctively clutching his jaw and processing it.

I thought he was channeling Morecambe and Wise but I guess you'd have to be a Brit to get the reference.

So there's a Cooper collective consciousness... wonder how that is distributed ?

I think Jean Renault punched him below the eye at Dead Dog Farm in the original but if anyone hit him in that jaw, they'd bounce right off!

Unless a vague memory of seeing Harry punch Albert came up.

Gotta wonder; if fully functional Dale Cooper was receiving dreams/messages/visitations from beyond our realm; so much so that he saw Bob and Mike and the dwarf before meeting them, what kind of dreams our Dougie is having at night?  I feel like his subconscious would be free to roam without being confined by the conscious mind.  It's quite possible he sees or knows about things Dopplecoop is doing. In fact, that's the only logical explanation.  Of course, Dale Cooper was always a "strong sender", so perhaps his double is as well?

Ah! So there was an earlier thread on this. I was searching, but didn't notice this conversation, so I started another one this morning, and after that yet another was started. Definitely one of those semi-conscious moments for Dougie Coop making a connection. Here's the screenshot of the moment from my album of screenshots for this episode:
