Does Bob require a second body (or "arm") to possess a host/become a doppelganger... the main host currently being Mr. C and the arm being Dougie? If so, are there other "arms" out there for other people Bob has possessed, such as Leland, Windom Earle, and maybe Phillip Jeffries? The school principal? What about other lodge residents who have appeared to have doppelgangers, such as Laura? Are possessing a host and having a doppelganger the same phenomenon? It would be wild if the crimes from the first two seasons were actually committed by two physical Lelands.

The face that floats by Cooper when on the space box and says "blue rose" appears to be Colonel Briggs.

It the mother referred to Laura Palmer's mother? Is she also possessed? She seems to enjoy watching the gratuitous footage of lions killing on tv. The mother in the space box seems to follow Cooper to the glass box where it kills the couple. It definitely appeared to be female.

Are the numbers on the giant outlet the numbers of Bob's victims, with Ronette Pulaski being number 3, and the blind woman being number 15?

Jacoby's golden shovels seem like they could be for a treasure hunt, because why else would you need a golden shovel?

One-armed Mike sold shoes. Cooper gets new shoes, old ones left in lodge. Leo could say nothing but "new shoes" after his brain injury.

From reading The Secret History of Twin Peaks, it seems likely the recurring number 235 is not unrelated to the 23 enigma:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/23_enigma

What is the story with Dougie? The hooker knew to drop Dougie off at the casino... but he did not work there, or the employees would have recognized him. What kind of job lets a man wear that kind of suit? Used car salesman with a gambling problem? You would think it would have to be low profile to avoid being accidentally spotted by someone who knew Cooper. People want him dead... is it because of gambling debts, as is implied by his wife?

I have no idea about any of this, but I sure am enjoying the ride. A good cup of coffee, a big plate of sugar and smiling Sunny Jim give me hope for Cooper's gradual recovery.

I think having a doppleganger is seperate to being possessed.

We each have a "dweller on the threshold", waiting for us in the lodge.

The Arm doesn't belong to Bob, it is Mike's arm.

Think new shoes might be something of an Easter Egg

The bit with Sarah Palmer was so dark, but I don't think she is THE mother

Interestingly the actor isn't credited as Ronnette. Also, was she a "victim"? She didn't die

It is Major Briggs, 100%

Yeah, Dougie is weird. Sounds like his work has to do with insurance. Anything to do with the insurance salesman who called at the sherriff station? So Mr.C or BOB "manufactured" Dougie....when, 25 years ago? He is made of a golden pearl? He has/had considerable debts and slept with prostitutes. Kinda like a looser Coop.

Whose house were they in and what was with the woman across the street "1 1 9" - 911, reversed? Like lodge-speak.

...has anyone else noticed Jacques Renault as a barman at the Roadhouse at the end of episode 2?

I totally noticed that... Jacques is dead and he looks so different now.  I think he fell on some hard times/health problems and there was a desire to get him back on screen somehow

I think the Sarah Palmer scene was an easter egg shoutout to the scenes in Wild at Heart where Harry Dean Stanton's character (Johnnie?) sits in the hotel room watching hyenas tear something apart.

Does anyone else think the eyeless woman in the floating steel box in space was Josie? I dunno, she was the first character that popped into my head as soon as I saw her.

Does anyone else feel a bit uneasy about Margaret's reference to Hawk's "heritage"? Lucy's tone deafness worked to defuse tension a bit... but I had to wince. There's the same sort of play with Indian identity as there was in the original seasons—which was, tbh, pretty painful (I'm not gonna talk about Johnny)—but it's 26 years later! I worry that Hawk becomes a token "playing Indian" Indian, despite the fact that his character offers much more than that. It's all very reflexive... but I'm not sure that makes it ok. (This is literally my only criticism of the new episodes, btw.)

Yes! And he was credited as a FOURTH Renault brother in the credits. Maybe we'll see more of him...

Also, personal theory: Dougie Jones' son is inhabited by the Giant. A) because he gives that same thumbs up as the old room service man in S2E1 and B) because he seems totally unfazed that his "dad" is acting abnormally.

Anyone else notice all of the green, yellow, and red in the breakfast scene? I think all three colors are in every shot, possibly a referee to all the traffic light shots in the original series.

When Dale lands in the purple room, I think he is in the WRONG ROOM- the woman with her eyes sewed shut can't speak to him, but seems to be warning him away from the electrical outlet with "15" on it. She can't help him, because he has been sent to the wrong place by the arm's doppelganger, in an attempt to make him "non-existant". Eyes-sewn-shut woman takes him out of the room, flips the switch and sacrifices herself in order to put him in the RIGHT purple room, the room with outlet "3" in it, the room where "american girl" Ronette can speak to him, the room with the outlet he is SUPPOSED to go through to return to this world. Room 15 was a part of another wtoryl not Dale's story, a story we will never be told of (Lynch loves to make sure we know that there are 1000 stories all twking place at the same time).

2:53 is the time of transportation. It's the moment in episode 3 (the clock turns from 2:52 to 2:53) when Cooper leaves steampunk-astral-dimension, DaleBob has his vomitous episode in the car, and Dougie blips out of the rental home. In episode 2, The EvoArm says, "2-5-3. Time and time again. Bob… Bob…Bob… Go now! Go now!"

So, at least that number is clear. It's the moment of transition -- time zone changes be damned.

Poof!

Nice Janson! Slightly off the stream but still on topic.

Random observation: Coop looking up at the camera in the Casino is reflective/reminiscent of the scene in FWWM when he goes in to the hallway to look up at the camera before Jeffries walks in.

@declassified - first thing I thought of too - don't think it is Josie but. . . maybe a sideways nod. . .

@MJ - . . . and if this is true (that Coop was in the wrong room) maybe this is that reality's version of Josie

I believe the reference to Hawk's heritage is an indian casino.  Hawk will find Cooper at the Casino.

That's what I was thinking as well...
