When rewatching Episodes 1&2 I noticed that when Jacoby emerges from his woodland trailer, he's wearing dark glasses.  He removes and pockets these, revealing a second set of his 'usual' glasses (with one red/one blue lens) underneath.  Is this comedy Lynch or might a set of dark glasses be needed for some activity indoors?  Any thoughts?

Yes I noticed he takes them off to come outdoors. Welding? You have to protect your eye-sight doing that.

I saw that and also noticed the black curtains covering the window of his trailer. The black and white room that Cooper had just been in with the giant also had black curtains. So I had the impression that Jacoby had in some way been witnessing that scene. Stretch?

Who noticed the tree-twinning in the foreground immediately after Jacoby emerges and starts talking to the guy delivering shovels? They seem to be one tree (on right) and then shift so that the viewer sees two.

The way the trees framed the scene was similar to a portal in the metaphysical sense.  It also looked like the sides of the glass box.

Right...did it ever bother you how the circle of sycamore trees around the portal to the Black Lodge looked so...sickly?

And now that I mention it, obviously it must be all the evil. Trees hate that.
