Everyone who has been enjoying the sound design in Twin Peaks the Return as much as I have should head on over to Dean Hurley's bandcamp page and download Anthology Resource Vol. 1: △△. It features all of the ambient drone music that has been permeating the scenes in-between the excellent variety of songs and classical pieces throughout the series. It's about 40 minutes long with many wonderful peeks and valleys. You can find the link below and preview the whole thing before purchasing:

A vinyl version is forthcoming and will be released on Sacred Bones Records!

Here is the liner notes pulled from the website:

Although Twin Peaks: The Return has hosted an array of Roadhouse performers and spotlighted music throughout its new season, a large part of the show’s sonic identity has been defined by the space between sound effects and music. Sound and music Supervisor Dean Hurley’s first installment of the library-style Anthology Resource series showcases his original sound design and music compositions featured in the show’s very distinctive-sounding third season. From ethereal tones to sputtering electricity to densely brooding musical cues, this release operates as an unofficial ambient score to Twin Peaks, offering a more abstract counterpoint to the show’s official soundtrack and score. (You might also remember Hurley as the drummer from the fictitious band Trouble, alongside Alex Zhang Hungtai of Dirty Beaches, and David Lynch’s son Riley, who performed at the Roadhouse in 'Part 5' of The Return.)

Sound and music supervisor Dean Hurley has operated David Lynch’s Asymmetrical Studio for the past 12 years, collaborating extensively with Lynch on a myriad of his film, commercial and music-based projects. In addition to his sound and music supervision for both Inland Empire and Twin Peaks: The Return, Hurley co-wrote and produced four full-length LPs with Lynch: The Air is on Fire (2007), This Train (2011), Crazy Clown Time (2011), and The Big Dream (2013). Hurley’s music production has also extended to artists like Lykke Li, Dirty Beaches, Zola Jesus, and The Veils.

Does anyone have any sort of list yet for exactly at what point each of these tracks have featured in the season so far? I've only been able to identify with 100% certainty the "Angel Choir Reveal" for Dr. Amp's Gold Shit-Digging Shovels

Due to circumstances, I've only just been able to start listening to this album, but I intend to match these up with scenes. Any help is much appreciated!

1. Intro Cymbal Wind (opening credits, every part)
3. Electricity I (Dale Cooper & Black Box 3 vs. Mr. C driving, S03E03)

And is "Seven Heaven" playing underneath the Swan Lake music box loop as Sonny Jim hops around his new "gym"?

Here's what I've been able to ID so far:

1. Intro Cymbal Wind

(The very beginning of each episode, when we vaguely see Laura before the theme music)

10. Angel Choir Reveal

(Dr. Amp's golden shit-digging shovel advert)

11. Seven Heaven

(Obviously playing during the scene with the "gym" - and this is the closest I've found to the Swan Lake loop playing over it which, for my purposes with this project, works just fine for me:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ze5lbFMwAnM

12. Eastern European Symphonic Mood No. 1

(Listed in the end credits of episode 13)

15. Shanghai Mysterioso

(Walking into Jack Rabbit's Palace and discovering Naido)

and this one which I'm admittedly less than 70% sure about, but mainly due to the low sustained organ(?) note you can hear underneath...

18. Future/Past

(Ep. 2 in the Red Room, Laura opens her face, "I am dead...yet I live")

Good catches guys! I am also thinking that we have yet to hear some of these tracks. A lot of these sequences just aired in Part 15 yesterday. It's a great listen while drawing or designing on the computer!

4. Weighted Room/Choral Swarm

(Occurs in the "Purple Room" with Naido in ep. 3; possibly followed directly after by Tube Wind Dream??)

Apparently this first happens even earlier when Lt. Knox is in Buckhorn on the phone with the Colonel after viewing Briggs' body

One piece of ambient music I really enjoyed was when Dougie is drawing the little ladders on the insurance documents.

I've had a quick scan through the tracks I don't think this is here though.

That's "Windswept" by Johnny Jewel, and the particular version you're referencing here is what I'm assuming will be "Windswept (Reprise)" on the Twin Peaks "score" album released on September 8
